If you’re looking to spend an hour and a half on a Saturday morning getting pumped up for a night of drinking or if your netflix queue is down to nothing, this might be the movie of choice.  It’s bascially a documentary of  unemployed guys and their quest to win the 2007 World Series of Beer Pong.  It’s quite entertaining and worth your time if you are into beer pong.  It stars such actors as Jonah Hill, aka Iceman, Vin Diesel as Tone, and Shawn squared which is really Wyatt from Wierd Science, although he seemed to have aged pretty well.  All in all, it’s quite sad, but at the same time, right up my alley and quite motivating to get you out there and try for yourself.

Well, sort of.  Apparently, you increase your chance of getting this skin condition by 70-80%, or so the article goes.  Psoriasis is an auto-immune disease that causes scaly lesions, redness and inflammation of the skin.  According to the study, women who consumed an average of at least 2.3 drinks per week had a 72 percent higher risk of developing psoriasis compared to women who did not consume alcohol.  It affects the joints and skin, so don’t bend your elbow when you drink.

This just in:

Huntington Beach, California — guests at new restaurants won’t be able to play beer pong before or after dinner.  In September, the city passed similar laws banning beer pong and similar games from existing restaurants with entertainment permits.

The City Council of Huntington Beach passed an ordinance banning games that involve alcohol from any new downtown restaurants.

The laws are designed to improve the image of the downtown portion of the beach city.  Huntington Beach Police Chief Ken Small says the games are not consistent with public safety.  Yet bikers and weed ARE?

According to a new study, which will soon be posted in the journal “Alcohol: Clinical and Experimental Research,” darker liquors such as bourbon, red wine, brandy, and spiced rum will produce a more severe hangover.  The reason?  The study found that darker alcohols contain more chemical byproducts than lighter ones like white wine, vodka and gin.  Dark liquors have up to 37 times more chemicals than light liquors.

With that said, the study also found that even though the subjects who consumed white wine or vodka said they felt better, they still performed just as bad at work or on driving tests the next morning as those that drank red wine and whiskey.

These results came from a study which followed 95 healthy adults who drank to the point of a good buzz and then were surveyed the next day.

We’d like to point out there was no mention of dark beer versus light beer.

At Drinknird we like all things drinking related. We also like our sports. So that is why we feel obligated to let you in on a local secret and tell you about one of the biggest parties of the year that includes both alcohol, volleyball and of course fun. The event is technically a surf festival, but as you can tell from the photo below, it doesn’t look like many people are looking at the water.
